Q1 Is there a version of the WS1500 Configurator that works over a telnet connection?

Currently the WS1500 Configurator only supports a direct connection to the craft port on the WS1500. We do plan to release a version of the WS1500 Configurator with a telnet feature soon but have not set a release date. Telnet configuration of the WS1500 is currently a command line interface. Remote configuration of the unit can also be completed using SNMP.

Q2 I am connected to the craft port of the WS1500 and am trying to use the command line interface, but I don't see anything. What am I doing wrong?

The WS1500 Craft port connection properties are:
9,600 bps
8 data bits
No parity
1 stop bit

Once these settings are verified type a "?" until you see a > prompt.

Q3 I established a telnet session to the WS1500 and see "WS1500 Server", but nothing else. I press the enter key and nothing happens. What am I doing wrong?

You must enter the main menu of the WS1500. Type a "?" mark until a ">" prompt appears.

Q4 What is the most current version of the firmware for the WS1500?

Using the Craft port, Telnet Session, SNMP or the WS1500 Configurator, retrieve the version of the WS1500. Compare the results to the "Software" field below. If you find you have a different version of firmware call Westronic Customer Support at 1-877-253-8304 for more information and to get the current firmware release and instructions to perform the upgrade.
